Next is the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization, under its golden dome on the Corniche. Then you walk the restored Heart of Sharjah: Al Hisn Fort, Bait Al Naboodah, and Souq Al Arsah. The tour ends at the Blue Souk and Al Qasba’s canal-side cafés.
Full-Day Sharjah City Tour with Mleiha (10Hours)
The full-day private Sharjah city tour adds the desert to the heritage half day. Under an hour from the city, Mleiha’s red dunes and Fossil Rock hold evidence of human settlement going back more than 100,000 years, which makes it one of Arabia’s most important archaeological sites. Add the Rain Room, where the rain falls everywhere except where you stand, and finish with dinner and the fountain show at Al Majaz Waterfront.
Chauffeur tip
Leave Dubai after 9:30 a.m. and head back before 5 p.m. or after 8 p.m. The drive takes 30 minutes instead of 90.
Good to Know Before Your Sharjah Tour
Sharjah is more conservative than Dubai. Alcohol isn't served anywhere in the emirate, and modest dress is expected in public, which means shoulders and knees covered for both men and women. Your chauffeur will mention this when you set off, but it's worth packing for in advance.
